Financials Data Warehouse Go-Live Update [04/02/07 revised from 03/19 & 03/05]

The Financials Data Warehouse is now live and several reports will now point to the Financials Data Warehouse. Below is information about impacts to Financials eReports users and a list of reports using the Data Warehouse. (This is in preparation for the Financials System Purge which will delete historical financial data from the production system beginning in April.)

Impacts to eReports Financials report users as a result of Go-Live include the following:

  • Several of the Financials reports now use the Financials Data Warehouse (DWRPT) as a data source instead of the Financials Reporting Database (FSRPT). Reports that will run against the data warehouse will contain a DW suffix in their name (e.g. GLU602DW-61).
  • The data content of the Financial reports using the Financials Data Warehouse has not changed.  The Financials Data Warehouse contains all of the current production data used in the reports including the data that is scheduled to be purged from the Financials system starting in April.  Once the purge is complete, the data warehouse will be the only data source containing the purged data.

  • Two new reports are available via eReports: GLU131DW - Journal and Budget Journal Detail Report and APU142DW - Voucher History by Dept and Vendor.  Job aids for these new reports will be available in eReports ASSIST.
  • If a data warehouse SQR report replaces an existing SQR report in eReports, the users' saved parameters from the previous report will be carried forward to the new data warehouse version.  This should minimize the impact of these report changes on the users.  For example, the existing saved parameters for the GLU604OS-91 will be carried forward to the GLU604DW-91.
  • All Financials SQR reports will have updated parameter page layouts. An Updated Parameter Page ASSIST link is available to help explain the change.
  • The eReports ASSIST pages are updated on March 19th to reflect changes associated with the report and parameter page modifications.

Financials Data Warehouse update schedule:

  • The Data Warehouse will be updated on a daily basis, Monday through Saturday, to reflect the previous day’s activity in the Financials system.  The Financials Data Warehouse will not be updated on Saturday evening\Sunday morning to reflect Saturday activity in the Financials system.  All weekend Financials system activity will be loaded to the data warehouse on Sunday evening\Monday morning.
  • The previous day’s financial data is projected to be loaded in the Financials Data Warehouse and available via eReports by 7 a.m.
  • If the Financials Data Warehouse load process is not complete by 7:00 a.m, the OIT System Status page will be updated with any available information, including a projected time when the updated data will be available in eReports.  If this does occur, the reports will still be available using two day old data and the eReports SQR parameter pages will display a warning message with a link to the OIT System Status page.
