Recent SIRs (#104758 and #107157) Put Into Financials Production [06/04/07]
Two new System Investigation Requests (SIRs #104758 and 107157) were recently put into Financials production.
SIR #104758
This SIR changes the Requisition and Purchase Order (PO) numbering for any order that has an accounting date greater than 06/30/2007. It was migrated to Financials production during the evening of Thursday, May 31st.
Since the fiscal year portion of university PO numbers and REQ numbers are only a single numerical character, there is a strong possibility that some departments would run out of available numbers during fiscal year 2008.
The intent of this SIR is to fix the issue by altering the numbering pattern by using two alphabetic characters instead of one. The new format will be as follows:
- The first five digits are the org number of the PO ID string. The sixth digit is the last digit of the fiscal year.
- The seventh character is a letter from A to Y assigned sequentially, excluding B, I, O, Q, S, and Z.
- The eighth character is a letter from A to Y assigned sequentially, also excluding B, I, O, Q, S, and Z.
- The last two characters are numeric assigned sequentially.
As an example, during fiscal year 2008, org 05000 would have available to it numbers ranging from 050008AA01 to 050008YY99. The ID following 050008AA99 will be 050008AC01 and the ID following 050008AY99 will be 050008CA01.
Please note:
- POs with an accounting year of 2007 or earlier will retain the previous format.
- OSURF POs will not be impacted by this change.
SIR #107157
This change for SIR #107157, implemented as of 05/24/07, will have an impact to both Financials and Reporting. The search criteria of "PO ID" has been added for POB101DW, the "Summary Data Report". Now for this report, it is possible to use search parameters of PO Date, Due Date, Last Activity Date and PO ID.
