New OSU-branded Navigation Bar for HR System [12/31/07]
On January 1, 2008 users of the HR System will see a new OSU-branded navigation bar that replaces the previous Oracle-branded navigation bar.
While using the HR System, users will have access to the Web functions currently found on most OSU pages such as "Get Help", "Search Campus Map", "Find People" and general "OSU Search" without having to open a separate browser window. For a preview see the page shots shown below.
Although the new navigation bar is primarily an added convenience and not a major change, it exemplifies the convergence of the HR System and the new Student Information System (SIS). HR and SIS will ultimately share a common database infrastructure and the new navigation bar is a first step in that direction.
You might say that that this is one small step for an HRP and one giant leap for a unified HR/SIS System.
